The Super Eagles camp at the Le Méridien Ibom Hotel in Uyo has opened ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zambia.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on Saturday, October 7 face Zambia in a World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Ahead of the clash, 17 players have arrived the Super Eagles camp. Oghenekaro Etebo, Anthony Nwakaeme, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, John Ogu, Elderson Echiejile and Dele Ajiboyewere the early arrivals on Sunday, October 1.
Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Leon Balogun, Shehu Abdulahi, Mikel Agu, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi all arrived on Monday, October 2
Expected todathe 21-year-old heads to Nigeria in good form, having scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 home win over Brighton on Sunday, October 1.
Nigeria lead Group B with ten points three above second-placed Zambia.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria need a win to seal qualification to the World Cup while any point for Zambia will take the qualification to the wire. Tuesday, October 3 are the likes of Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses, Ola Aina, Daniel Akpeyi, Ogenyi Onazi, William Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon and Uche Agbo.
Standby players, Aremu Afiz and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi are also in the Super Eagles camp ahead of the clash.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will hold their first training session on Tuesday at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo at 5:30 pm.
The players had a team walk at the Le Méridien Ibom Hotel on Tuesday morning.
Iwobi arrives with father
Iwobi who is expected in camp later on Tuesday is making the trip to Nigeria with his father Chuba Iwobi.
The Arsenal star put up a video of him and his dad at the airport on their way to Nigeria for the game.
