Reverend Father goes to pulpit with machine gun

A Reverend Father in one of the volatile northern states in the country has become an Internet sensation after he was pictured with a gun in the church.

The fully prepared Reverend gentleman

The man of God, according to Achike Onwuazo who posted the picture on his Facebook page, did not want to be caught unawares
by some rampaging insurgents and terrorists who have taken it as their past time to attack places of worship with reckless abandon.
And with the government not doing much to protect its citizens, it has now become imperative for people to devise means of providing protection for themselves.
This is what Onwuazo posted on his wall while giving his support to the Reverend gentleman:
“Carry Go my blessed Rev. Father. He who is surrounded by his enemies (Fulani herdsmen & Boko Haram) is always alert.”
Last year, a military priest became an instant celebrity when he was spotted with a gun while preaching in a church in a military barracks in Damaturu, Yobe State.
According to report then, the priest was officiating at the St. James Catholic Cathedral, Military Base, and he had no pretence when he had a gun strapped to his back due to incessant attacks from the Boko Haram sect in the area.
