A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Friday sentenced an 18-year-old mason

Jude Idada and Omoni Oboli

Filmmaker Omoni Oboli has been served an injunction to halt the release of her new movie "Okafor's Law."

In 2016, a Canada-based writer, Jude Idada, accused Omoni Oboli of stealing his story and idea for her movie.

The actress remained silent over the issue and went ahead to set a release date for the movie for March 31, 2017, with an exclusive premiere set for today, March 24, 2017.
According to a court documents share with Pulse, the actress was served an injunction on March 24, 2017, to halt the premiere of "Okafor's Law" and a nationwide release of the movie.
The complaint was filed by Raconteur Productions. According to document, the actress will be guilty of contempt of court if she goes ahead with a premiere or release.
The first, second and third defendants being Omoni Oboli, Dioni Visions and Filmone Distribution, have all been served.
In an exclusive chat with Pulse Nigeria last year, Jude Idada had said that he decided to speak out after Oboli maligned his person and told people he stole her story.
He also revealed that he had not sought an injunction as he didn't want the film to be pulled from the Toronto Film Festival, where it had its premiere.

Idada had said that his next line of action was to contact his lawyers.
Pulse reached out to Oboli's representatives who say the premiere will still hold as scheduled.
Pulse also reached out to FilmOne for a comment, but are yet to get a response.
