CAF Champions League Rivers United, Rangers crash out Rivers and Rangers will now drop to the playoffs for the CAF Confederation Cup after crashing out of the Champions League.

Nigerian clubs, Rivers United and Enugu Rangers last weekend crashed out of the CAF Champions League as they were dumped out by Al-Merrikh and Zamalek.

After a 3-0 win in the first leg, Rivers United lost 4-0 against Al-Merrikh in the second leg which held in Sudan on Saturday, March 18.
Bakri Al Madina netted a first-half hat-trick, scoring in the 9th, 24th and 45th minute.
They got their fourth goal in the second half.
Trailing 4-1 from the first leg, Enugu Rangers could only beat Zamalek 2-1 on Sunday, March to lose the tie 5-3.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions got their first goal of the day late in the first half through Tope Olusesi.
Zamalek got the crucial away goal in the 71st minute through Basan Morsi
Rangers got back into the lead with a goal from Godwin Aguda in the second half.
Rivers and Rangers will now drop to the playoffs for the CAF Confederation Cup.
