Ander Herrera waiting for contract talks with Manchester United to begin ahead of final year of deal
Manchester United are yet to begin talks with Ander Herrera over a new contract, despite the midfielder approaching the final year of his deal.
The Spaniard has been an important cog in the Old Trafford side as Jose Mourinho’s men have gone on a 15-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

However, the 27-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of next season with Herrera open to talks. "Of course, if they want to talk with me, I will be very happy to do that,” he told The Mirror.
United will face Watford this weekend, with United just two point behind Arsenal in fourth place and the final Champions League spot. However, they remain 14 points off leaders Chelsea and Herrera insists Antonio Conte’s men deserve their position, with United's 4-0 defeat to the Blues earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge evidence of their strength.

“The game that we deserved to lose clearly was Chelsea, so Chelsea so far has been the best team,” he added. “They are very compact. They are very difficult to beat and they have been clear in the things that they have to do.
"I think they deserve to be first, to be honest.”
