The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play two high profile friendly games before their crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against African Champions, Cameroon.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Cameroon in a double header for the 2018 World Cup in August and September.
Ahead of the game, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that they have arranged two high-profile friendlies for Nigeria’s senior football national team.
Cameroon's national football team attend a training session at Agondje Stadium in Libreville, on February 3, two days ahead of the final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, against Egypt
This was revealed at the NFF executive committee meeting which held on Tuesday, February 7 in Abuja.
It was unanimously agreed that there was the need for intensive preparation of the Super Eagles for the remaining matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying race, as well as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series starting in June this year. As part of the preparation, the Super Eagles will play two friendly matches against quality opposition in March 2017,” a part of the communique from the meeting reads.

This latest decision from the NFF is in line with what Amaju Pinnick revealed in November 2016 when he revealed that the Super Eagles will play Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire in friendly games before facing Cameroon.
“We have reasoned that it won’t make sense playing Germany or Wales when the Super Eagles would face a physical side like Cameroon,” Pinnick told Sun Newspapers.

So, as we speak, we have secured a friendly against Senegal and we are working on playing Cote d’Ivoire.
“These are two games that would adequately prepare us for the Cameroon games since they both play the same style of football with Cameroon.
The Super Eagles are top of Group B of the qualifiers with six points ahead of Cameroon who have two points.
Algeria and Zambia are bottom with just a point.
